Preston Sighn Welbeck For Rest of Season

Preston have signed Manchester United youngster Danny Welbeck on loan for the rest of the season.

The 19-year-old striker has made 11 first-team appearances for United this term but manager Sir Alex Ferguson has agreed to let him go out on loan as his side head into the business end of the season.

It will be Welbeck's first spell away from Old Trafford and is a path also trodden by David Beckham, who kick-started his career with a one-month stint at Preston in March 1995.

Manchester-born Welbeck is Darren Ferguson's first signing as Preston boss and goes straight into the squad for Tuesday's trip to Peterborough.

"Danny is a young lad who has played quite a few games for United this season," Ferguson junior told Preston's official website. "He's got fantastic potential.

"I think it helped with United going out of the FA Cup - they wanted him to go out and get experience.

"He'll come here and get games, and I'm sure he'll show the right attitude because of where he's come from."
Welbeck has scored five goals in 24 appearances for United and signed a four-year contract extension in December.

Sunderland after Beye

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has confirmed his interest in signing Aston Villa full-back Habib Beye after missing out on Guy Demel.

Bruce, who has already brought in Matthew Kilgallon from Sheffield United, is looking to bolster his defensive options before the close of the transfer window.

He had targeted a deal for Demel, but the Ivory Coast international has opted to stay at Hamburg until the end of the season.

That has prompted Bruce to now train his sights on Beye, who has made just nine appearances for Villa since his move from Newcastle United last summer.

The Black Cats boss is now waiting to learn whether Villa will be prepared to let Beye return to the North East before the end of the money.

Footbsll Europe understands Preston are planning an ambitious swoop for Manchester United starlet Danny Welbeck.

Preston boss Darren Ferguson, son of United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, has admitted he could try and use his connections at Old Trafford to bolster his squad.

Welbeck who is regarded as one of the best young prospects to come through at United in recent seasons and is tipped for a big future in the game.

Latics May Make Move for Ruben

Wigan are locked in talks with Villarreal over Argentine striker Marco Ruben, we understand.

Ruben has been with Villarreal since 2008 when they paid River Plate more than £5million for his services.
Upon his arrival he was loaned out to Recreativo where he scored seven times.

He returned to Villarreal in the summer, but was transferred to their B side - who are playing in the Segunda Liga.

And Ruben has done well in Spain's second tier and is one of the top-scorers with nine goals.
Now Roberto Martinez has set his sights on the 23-year-old, who has one international cap to his name.

Martinez flew to Spain earlier this week and held talks with Villarreal - who are not wanting to sell Ruben as they rate him highly.

They have rebuffed any notion of him going on loan to England, and Wigan are now hoping a permanent deal can be struck - although Villarreal want to recoup their £5million and more for the player.

Ruben himself is believed to know of Wigan's interest and is keen to move to England, which could help Martinez's quest to prise him away from El Madrigal.

Essien out for a Possible 6 Weeks

Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien is facing up to six weeks on the sidelines with the knee injury he suffered on international duty.

The Ghana ace, who had only just recovered from a hamstring problem, flew out to the African Cup of Nations at the start of the month.

But his involvement in the tournament was immediately curtailed when he damaged his knee during training.
He was subsequently ruled out of the remainder of the competition and is now facing a number of weeks out to recover from the problem.

Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti is keen to have the key midfielder available again within a month, but admits his recuperation could take longer.

Ancelotti told the club's official website: "He had a tear in the meniscus, and he has to stay out for four to six weeks. I hope four."

The Italian will not be tempted to dip into the transfer market and is confident his squad will be able to cope in Essien'scontinued absence.

He added: "In January, Essien was not here, he was at the African Cup.
"Maybe we lose him for one month, it is not good news but I think that we will do a good job again."

Football Europe understands Kris Boyd is considering offers from Aston Villa and Birmingham City.

The Rangers striker is in a strong position as his current contract expires at the end of the season and he is now free to speak to other suitors.

Rangers are keen to tie down their top goalscorer to fresh terms and have engaged in discussions with the player and his representatives.

However the Glasgow giants are currently struggling financially and the Lloyd's Banking Group need to give any contract offers their final approval before they can be signed.

Boyd's magnificent scoring record in Scotland, this season he has scored 19 goals in 17 league starts, has ensured he is not short of offers elsewhere.

Birmingham boss Alex McLeish is a known admirer having worked with the player during his time at the helm of Rangers and Scotland and there is an offer on the table from St Andrews.

We have since learned that the Blues face competition for Boyd's signature from Midlands rivals Aston Villa.

Martin O'Neill has previously said he needs to sell before he can buy but may see Boyd as an achievable target given his contractual situation.

Everton after Ben Arfa

Football Europe understands Everton are pressing hard to try and seal a deal for French star Hatem Ben Arfa.

The one-time darling of Ligue 1 has long-since been heralded as a potential successor to Zinedine Zidane.

He impressed hugely after making the initial breakthrough at Lyon, but after a series of falling outs he shunned a number of European clubs to join Marseille in 2008.

However, trouble has followed him to the South of France and he has fallen out with coach Didier Deschamps.

A host of clubs have been linked with a move, but Everton are now trying to seal a loan deal - with an option for a permanent transfer.

Everton officials were understood to be present in Marseille on Wednesday evening, as the home side sealed a 2-1 win over Le Mans.

It is believed that the Toffees held talks with Marseille with the hope of sealing a loan move.
After the match Ben Arfa was asked about Everton's presence at the Stade Velodrome.

When told of their interest by radio station RMC he said: "Really?
"Still, I am at Marseille. If they want to look at me, they look at me - that is their job."

Manchester City executive chairman Garry Cook has insisted that they are going to be the 'biggest' in the world.

City have made little secret of their intentions, following Sheikh Mansour's takeover of the club.

The club broke the British transfer record soon after Mansour took charge in 2008, and have since gone on to spend more than £120million in new players alone.

Cook was addressing a fans' forum in New York, and he told a buoyant crowd that he had little doubts the club would become the world's best.

"This football club is, without doubt, going to be the biggest and best football club in the world," Cook said.

"I will make no excuses for saying it, as I truly believe it - with the resources and capabilities we have."

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has branded Gary Neville an 'idiot' and admits his goal celebration in the Carling Cup was directed at his former team-mate.The Argentina international scored twice against Manchester United in the Carling cup semi-final first leg on Tuesday, putting City in the driving seat going into next week's game at Old Trafford as they claimed a 2-1 win.

Tevez netted City's equaliser from the penalty spot three minutes before half-time, and he ran to the touchline to exchange gestures with United fans' favourite Nevilleduring his celebration.

Tevez made a gesture for Neville to keep his mouth shut before cupping his hands behind his ears, in response to comments from Neville that he was not worth the money City spent on him, and the defender then hit back with a rude gesture.

The 25-year-old, who moved from United to City for £25.5million last summer, admits he had to contain himself in his celebration, but revealed he was directing his actions towards Neville.

"In all the press here, Gary Neville came out and stood by (Sir Alex) Ferguson's comments, saying that I wasn't worth 25million," he told Argentinean radio.

"I thought he was in the wrong because we were team-mates and I never disrespected him, I always respected him.

"I feel he was a boot-licker when he stood by Ferguson's comments that I wasn't worth that money.

"From a former team-mate it hurts, from a coach it doesn't surprise me.

"I would never do that gesture towards the fans, I would never show a lack of respect towards people. It was directed at Gary Neville.

"I was the first to sit down to have lunch in the team hotel and all the papers were laid out," he added.
"I looked at them as, although I couldn't read them, there were (photos) of Gary Neville and they were talking about me.

Udinese sue Portsmouth

Udinese have gone to the Court of Arbitration for Sport over fees still owed to them by Portsmouth for the transfer of Sulley Muntari in 2007.

The midfielder joined Pompey from Udinese in the summer of 2007 and spent a successful 12 months at Fratton Park before moving back to Italy with Inter Milan.

However, Udinese have still not received 4million euros (£3.5million) from the South Coast club and have reported the matter to CAS.

The precarious financial situation at Fratton Park left Portsmouth still owing money to several clubs for previous transfers at the start of January.

Pompey were therefore banned from registering new players and the embargo would not be lifted until they had paid their creditors.

Debts have since been settled with UK clubs as well as French duo Lens and Rennes.

Portsmouth must now focus on resolving the issue with Udinese and reports suggest the Premier League will then allow the club to start signing players again.

Mancini keen on midfield duo

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has confirmed his interest in AC Milan midfielder Mathieu Flamini and Fernando Gago of Real Madrid.

Flamini was strongly linked with a loan switch to Eastlands earlier in the week but the Serie A side claimed they were yet to receive an official offer.

The former Arsenal player has slipped down the pecking order under coach Leonardo and is keen to feature regularly in the coming months to ensure he features in France's World Cup squad.

Adverse weather conditions in England have hampered preparations for games in recent weeks, in fact Blues have struggled to stage a full training session since Christmas Eve due to heavy snow at Wast Hills.

Relegation placed Hannover sack coach Andreas Bergmann following a 3-0 loss to Bundesliga bottom placed Hertha Berlin at the weekend.

Hannover are currently in 16th place on 17 points from 18 games. Ahead of Nurnberg and Hertha following three straight defeats and seven league games without a win.

The board said the reason that Andreas Bergmann could not give the team necessary impulses to remain in the Bundesliga.

Bergmann replaced the former coach Dieter Hecking after three matches of this season. But could not find the form the team neaded to stay in the league.

This is the websites first week and we have come up with the idea to have a tipping comp.

So each week i will tell you who is playing and who i think will win. You will also be able to choose i game to put a FOOTY on wich means you can guess the score for a bonus points which could help you out. By the end of the week there will be a hall of fame so get tipping in our Barcleys Premier and Coca Cola Chamionship tipping comp. Post your tips in comments. If a game gets canceled the point won't count. Also put a tick or some sort of sighn next to the team you would like to tip. And to celebrate we are doing two rounds in one also because it means you dont have to do it twice in such a short time meaning you will need to do two FOOTYS one for Saturday or Sunday another for Monday to Wednesday. For a draw dont choose any.

This Weekend has seen the ending of the United Erab Of Emirates Fifa Club Cup With Barcelona Beeting Estudiantes 2-1. Barcelona Going behind 35 minutes into the game. Barcalona wated to the 89th minute until they scored withe an impressive header sending the game into extra time.

In other leagues the week started of with Qpr drawing 2-2 with West Brom. On Tuesday Aston villa beat Sunderland 0-2 and Man Utd beat Wolves 3-0. In the FA Cup Torquay beat Stockport 4-0.

On Wednesday Chelsea beat Portsmouth 2-1. Also Tottenham beat City 3-0. In the Europa Fulham won 2-1 against Basle and and Roma beat CSKA Sofia 3-0

Thursday Involved all Europa with Ajax losing to Anderlecht 3-0. Genoa lost to Valencia 2-1. Also Celtic drew with Rapid Vienna 3-3.And Everton lost with BATE 1-0.

Friday involved a 3-2 win to Aberystwyth over Caersws. Cambuur Leeuwarden beating HFC Haarlem 4-0 and Eindhoven winning 4-0 over TOP oss.

On Saturday Portsmouth beat liverpool 2-0. City beating Sunderland 4-3. Doncaster beating Derby 0-2 and Preston losing to Forest 3-0. Rangers flogging Motherwell 6-1 and Hibernian beating Aberdeen 2-0.

Sunday had West had drawing with Chelsea 1-1 and Wolves beating Burnley 2-0. Also Newcastle won 2-0 against Buro. Hearts also beat Celtic 2-1. In spain Espanyol managed to beat Almeria 2-0 and in Italy Roma won 2-0 against Parma.

An interesting fact is that over 110 matches got cancelled this weekend in Just the major leagues.

So this week has been filled with everything happiness,excitement,joy,disapointment and Miracles.

I sure hape that the snow stop before next saturday when most of the leagues continue after the christmas break.
