"Break Will Benefit Players" Mcleish

Today Birmingham trained for the first time at there new training camp in Malta.

Adverse weather conditions in England have hampered preparations for games in recent weeks, in fact Blues have struggled to stage a full training session since Christmas Eve due to heavy snow at Wast Hills.

The sun was shining in Paola, a small town on the outskirts of the capital Valletta and home of current Maltese champions Hibernians, McLeish hopes three days on the Mediterranean island will help his side ahead a gruelling second half of the campaign.

It has been particularly hard to train, so I felt to get decent facilities we would have to come abroad, although the chance to come to Malta was opportune and was helped by the Malta Tourist Board and Air Malta being sponsors of the club.

"I've been on a few of these trips before and my experience tells me it can be very beneficial for the players.

Mcleish said that it is not a holidah and that they are here to train
